Board Games at Armchair Adventurer!

Armchair Adventurer has recently passed ownership to a good friend of mine and the place looks fantastic!

As you may or may not know, I can no longer organize the meetups on Monday nights at the Ward Warehouse conference rooms sponsored by Other Realms. I've enjoyed some great company and shared some great games and want to ensure the good times keep happening; therefore, I will be organizing meetups on Thursdays from 5:00 pm to about 10:00 pm closing at this new venue.

Request each person bring a game or two; some of us, if we make it, will probably bring more. Not mandatory to bring games!

As a token of gratitude for Armchair Adventurer, it is highly encouraged to spend a few $$ now and then to thank them for their kindness of allowing us the use of their table space and keeping our thriving gaming community strong. If you can't make it at the start time, no worries! Just show up when you can. =D

I've got Greed (the new Donald X. Vaccarino game), Res Publica and Dark Gothic new to play. Any requests? Just things that are actually going to get played, please.

Yo Van, have you played dark gothic? If so, how'd you like it?

    • Van F

We played it. It was pretty thematic.

For a first timer, I was very impressed about the turnout and the games that we were playing. Further, I liked how my games were put to work and how it was played out and being able to learn at the same time. I would def. Recommend this to any hardcore board gamer and encourage them to bring in a game that they haven't played for a long time.

Awesome thanks man. We just played VOTK tonight a few times with the same enjoyment. In fact one of the players actually said this is the Star Realms killer.

I got a print and play of the first game I backed on KS, it's called Harbour. The game is a light worker placement and it's easy to learn but with enough depth to remain entertaining.

    • Brandon S.

Harbour?! That sounds interesting....I want to see that too.

      July 24, 2014

Yeah, I tried a quickly with a friend to learn it, and it was quite enjoyable. She doesn't really play board games but she understood it easily enough.

Well, I have a game called "Hit or Miss". I can see if I can bring that to the table.

I'm also interested in running "Core Worlds" depending on interest/number of people who show up this week. This game is my favorite deck builder and easily one of my top 5 games period. It can be lengthy so one game will prolly last most of the evening.

With experienced players playing a 5 player game, I'd say you could get a game completed in just under 2 hours. However, with teaching new players, I could see it taking 3hrs to complete.

      July 22, 2014

    • Jeffrey V.

      I love Core Worlds.

Should be free. I'll bring a game or two as well.
