I have opened this session up for more participants; we'll likely be standing room only! :) That will work fine because this will be a discussion-based session rather than a working session. Come one, come all!
Now that we have our measurements,* what next? As you may know, there are about as many different possible ways to draft slopers as there are models of sewing machines. Some of us have books or other resources on the subject, some of us don't know what I'm talking about! :) Wherever you are on this spectrum, join us for this meeting as we discuss our next steps. If you do have sloper/block drafting resources that you're willing to share, bring them all. (Remember to put your name on your stuff!) Our plan for this meeting is roughly as follows:
- discuss different sloper drafting styles/methods
- decide our next steps -- not everyone will go in the same direction, but we want to come up with a general plan
- form smaller-segment groups, as desired -- for instance, if 2 or 3 people want to use the same drafting technique, they can exchange contact info to touch base with each other as questions arise. if you want to work by yourself, that's fine too!
*If you weren't able to attend when we buddied up and took measurements last year, but you want to get assistance with this, please let Susan or Susan know. Depending on how many we have, we may set up another small gathering, or we may be able to do it within another meeting, like the sewing party for instance.
Don't know what The Drafthouse is? Here's a post where we outlined the general direction of this series of meetings. You can jump in at any time!
