Pattern Review

Wear or bring a garment you've sewn recently, and the pattern you sewed it from, and review it for the other Sewing With Style seamsters in attendance! How much simpler will it be to plan your upcoming sewing projects when you have a chance to see 3-d garments, instead of pattern envelope pictures, and ask specific questions of someone who has already sewn up the pattern? And the bestest part of all: this meetup will take place at Austin's newest independent fabric store, The Common Thread. Owner Jeanie Brown carries almost exclusively apparel fabric, and let me tell you, it is impressive! Jeanie has graciously offered the use of her store for our meetup after store hours, which means exclusive shopping privileges while we are there! Please be sure to eat an early dinner, 'cause we'll start the Meetup at 6:30 sharp. You bring: * A garment you've sewn recently * The pattern - preferably Big 4 (Simplicity, McCall's, Butterick, Vogue), Burda/Style/World of Fashion, KnipMode, Patrones, Japanese pattern books and magazines * A full tummy * Your wallet if you're in a fabric buying mood, and really, what seamster isn't? Hope you can make it out! More info on The Common Thread:

It was our first Pattern Review meetup and it was great! There were seamsters of all levels sharing garments they made. What a great way to expand our horizons with styles and fabrics we might not normally select for ourselves.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
