What is your history with sewing?

I started as a child making doll clothes. Bought my first sewing machine in my early twenties and haven't stopped sewing since. I have been working with some Interior Designers the last 20 years.

Tell us about your sewing machine(s).

I have 3 Janome sewing machines. 2 have some decorative stitches and 1 is just a straight stitch machine that's heavy duty. I also have a Janome serger, a Johnson Ruffler, and a hemming machine.

When you make a mistake while sewing, what do you do?

I either try to fix it if possible or if it isn't fixable then I try to be creative and make it work somehow. Sometimes if it is fixable and I keep screwing up I know it's time to stop until I'm ready to deal with the issue at hand.

What's your favorite thing you've ever sewn? Can we see a picture?

A jacket I made for one of my son's girlfriends. She had a vintage jacket that was quilted but had washed it and it shrank so I offered to make her one. I quilted the fabric for the jacket and added fun trim. I have never gotten a picture.

If skill, time, and resources were no issue, what would you sew right now?

Since I'm a fanatic for jackets probably a vintage style jacket. I have the time but just need to do it.

Introduction

I have a sewing workroom in my home. I sew for a few Interior Designers part time. I also make quilts, purses and am trying to get back into clothing construction.
