What is your history with sewing?

I sewed for the first time in Girl Scouts for the Sewing Badge. Then I had a semester of sewing in high school home ec. I didn't sew again until about ten years ago, mostly costumes for the boys who were little then.

Tell us about your sewing machine(s).

Viking Sapphire 850, Viking Emerald, Singer Featherweight (Centennial Edition), Huskylock 910 serger.

When you make a mistake while sewing, what do you do?

Figure out if I can live with it or not. If it requires fixing I usually see if there's an easy way out. Often the only thing to do is rip and redo.

What's your favorite thing you've ever sewn? Can we see a picture?

It's kind of a tie between two dresses from vintage patterns. One is a 50's gown in duipioni silk. The other a 40's wrap dress in silk damask.

If skill, time, and resources were no issue, what would you sew right now?

A gorgeous tailored jacket in a silk or wool tweed.

I love making one of a kind things and I collect vintage patterns and sewing supplies.
