Introduction

I BELONG TO THE AUSTIN/CAPITAL CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN SEWING GUILD. I'VE BEEN SEWING SINCE MY TEENAGE YEARS \. I'VE QUILTED, BEADED, CROCHETED, EMBROIDERED, AND LOTS OF EMBELLISHING. I HAD A SUIT PUBLISHED IN "THREADS" MAGAZINE.

What is your history with sewing?

I STARTED WITH CLOTHING. HAVE MADE DRAPERIES, AND COVERED CUSHIONS FOR FURNITURE. I QUILTED FOR 20 YEARS. I WENT BACK TO CLOTHING. I MADE MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW'S WEDDING DRESS. I EMBELLISH ALMOST EVERYTHING I MAKE. I MAKE DOLLS AND UP-CYCLE THRIFT FINDS. NOW, I'M MAKING GRANDDAUGHTER DRESSES.

Tell us about your sewing machine(s).

When you make a mistake while sewing, what do you do?

SOMETIMES IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EMBELLISHING, AND SOMETIMES I JUST FIX IT

What's your favorite thing you've ever sewn? Can we see a picture?

I MADE A three piece SUIT AND SENT IT TO THE NATIONAL ASG CONFERENCE IN 2007 IN CALIFORNIA. IT WAS ONE OF 7 OUTFITS THAT WAS FEATURED IN THE DEC 2007 ISSUE OF "THREADS" MAGAZINE.

If skill, time, and resources were no issue, what would you sew right now?
