I learned to sew when I was a kid. I love fabrics and browsing through fabric stores, where I've bought more fabric than what I've ever sewn.
I have a pretty good little Singer.
Fix it...or not. Depends on if I can live with it.
I took a long red and white skirt and shortened it, while turning the cut off part into a cute matching top using added white accent fabric. I had to think of something fast for a New Year's Eve party.
Jumpers, for the practical me and for the whimsical me, to make elegant lounge wear gowns out of lovely fabrics like the old Movie Stars used to wear.
Hi, I'm Daina Gibbs, looking to find a great sewing group, make friends, have fun and learn more about making the kind of clothes that I can't find in stores. I either like the style, but not the fabric or visa-versa, learn how to get the right fit.
It was refreshing to meet up with the nicest ladies in such a lovely setting there in the fabric store. Both generous in their positive energy and in their giving us those amazing patterns. Thank you for the many patterns, especially the trench coat pattern, because i was looking for such a specific item, and there it fell before my eyes! To take home! Already cut out. We hit the jack pot on that fun sewing party day, didn't we my new friends. Thanks bunches and bunches.
