What is your history with sewing?

When I took Home Ec in middle school, I was so terrible at machine sewing, I paid another girl in the class to do my required project for me. After I had my daughter two years ago, I loved getting handmade things for her, so I decided to see if I could make them myself. I took an Informal Class from UT and (finally) learned to sew! As it turns out, I really enjoy the process of sewing (particularly garments for myself and my daughter) and I am always looking to add to my skills - I've been starting to try drafting my own patterns.

Tell us about your sewing machine(s).

I have a Brother 400SE sewing and embroidery machine and a Brother 1034D serger.

When you make a mistake while sewing, what do you do?

Whatever will cause me the least amount of extra work! A perfectionist I'm not!

What's your favorite thing you've ever sewn? Can we see a picture?

My daughter's Little Bo Peep Halloween costume from last year - it's in my pictures (I also made the dresses she and I are wearing in my main pic). It was just everything over-the-top and unnecessary in an 18 month old's Halloween costume, which is kinda my style.

If skill, time, and resources were no issue, what would you sew right now?

A) I would love to learn how to make an old-timey smocked little girl's dress. I'm actually going to try to teach myself this soon... B) I'd love to take on a project from Pattern Magic. One day...
