What is your history with sewing?

I started sewing when I was 9 or so. I used to be very impatient and messed everything up. Then I got more patient and took my time. Then I got a cat that likes to crawl up fabric, so I've been out of practice for the past couple of years.

Tell us about your sewing machine(s).

Your basic Singer that's about four years old.

When you make a mistake while sewing, what do you do?

Depends on the project. If I've invested a lot of time and money, I'll usually try to undo it and then put it away if I've got the time. If this is a critical error on something that was iffy to begin with, I follow my grandmother's advice and "pitch it across the room".

What's your favorite thing you've ever sewn? Can we see a picture?

In 1980, my grandmother and I were going on a trip together. We took turns sewing, cutting, and ironing and in one afternoon made six complete outfits for me.

If skill, time, and resources were no issue, what would you sew right now?

A cover for my couch. Then some circle skirts to embroider.
