What is your history with sewing?

I started sewing while at University because I wanted more clothes than I could afford to buy.

Tell us about your sewing machine(s).

I have a fancy, new one which replaces the little Singer I lost in the fire. I am looking to replace the Singer.

When you make a mistake while sewing, what do you do?

Rip everything out neatly, and press the fabric as though it were new, and start again.

What's your favorite thing you've ever sewn? Can we see a picture?

A pretty dress for my daughter's first dance at Austin, High. Yes, I am unpacking photographs. It should show up.

If skill, time, and resources were no issue, what would you sew right now?

First, I would sew a very light-weight rain coat for my Bichon Frisse. The ones in the stores are too hot for Texas and the moisture makes his hair curl into little cheerios.

Hello. I lived in Austin for 30 years, moved away for eighteen and now am back in this wonderful city.
