Sew Fun Holiday Meetup! Well if you aren't bogged down on Holiday Shopping and want to get away and sew, come on down to the Holiday meetup. Bring your favorite Holiday Dish and join in the fun. We can eat and chat and sew ( or bead, crochet or knit.. whatever thrills ya!) Bring a small sewing related gift to exchange. Don't go to any expense just share from your stash. We will exchange Chinese Auction style. I hope to have some takers! Whatever you celebrate, from Christmas, to Hannukah to Kwaazaa.. etc.. everyone is welcome to attend it just about fellowship! Bring your new projects or your UFO's. Don't feel like sewing? Bring any portable project to work on. Bring your sewing machine or bring handwork. It is all about doing something you enjoy together. Also if you have questions about sewing or a specific project, bring it.. chances are someone will be able to answer it. Don't forget to bring lunch and snacks. And bring show and tell if you have it. (Please note there is no elevator in the building so there are stairs involved. We can help you upstairs with your stuff if you need it!) We are meeting for Lunch at White Wolf on Orange Avenue (near Florida Hospital) and then walking the street to peruse the vintage shops in the area for fiber related items of interest. (Or anything else that catches your fancy). We also have some other options including a trip to a local sewing establishment such as Quilter's Cove or Cornerstone Quilts or the local bead store, the Bead Bar. It's all about what we can fit in. We will decide at Lunch what we think we can accomplish. Please RSVP that you will join us.

It's a free for all. Bring your projects and work on whatever you want. I am planning to be there from 10:00am to at least 5:00pm because I have a big project to finish. You can come the usual time of Noon to 5:00pm but you are welcome to come all day. Bring lunch and snacks or we can order delivery or run and pick up. If I have no RSVP's by noon on Friday, I will cancel and sew at home. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

We will have to usual free for all sew-in but I will also be available to anyone who wants to bring a pattern and do some basic sewing lessons from reading the pattern to pattern layout and cutting. Let me know if you want to do that by emailing me at wfullerrn@aol.com. There are three different rooms we can sew in. Reminder: If you don't feel like sewing and just want to bring knitting, crochet, needlepoint or some other hobby ( nothing too messy) please feel free. It is all about the fellowship. Feel free to bring your lunch and some munchies to share but that is not required. Show and Tell encouraged!
Please note: !2:00noon is the starting time but you can come after that time. It is just a sit and stitch session, not a lot of time constraints! Shy people and introverts welcome. Hope to have a full house. Willa

Bring a project you want to work on. UFO's' encouraged. We will set up and sew from noon until 2pm. At two pm we will have a demo by Stacy on re-purposing a t-shirt. Other than that the schedule is free and easy.. come and go as you please. I will plan to stay until 5.. and if people want to keep sewing, we can do that. Bring your questions and problems for more experienced sewists. Bring fabric, trims, beads, buttons, to trade or to share. Bring your "oogly" fabric to share. One woman's ugly fabric is another's treasure. Also feel free to let me know if you are looking for anything special. Someone might have it to trade or sell.

Revitalize the group set some goals. Look for various meeting places. Schedule next meetup. Bring show and tell, Items to sell, swap, or give away. A good place to get rid of your "what was I thinking?" fabric. Newbies welcome. I would be glad to teach someone basic sewing in my home just for the fun of it. I have taught several people including my daughter to sew. I could also teach classes on embellishing, crazy quilting etc. Others are welcome to offer their teaching skills and knowledge as well. It is all about getting together to sew. Sometimes it is just good to have companions. We will make some rules and policies regarding behavior, just in case! But I don't anticipate any problems. We can move the meetings around the Orlando area if members have access to meeting spaces that would accomodate sewing. Hopefully this will be everyone's group. I don't want to charge dues or fees but in order to keep this group I have to pay a fee. I would appreciate some help with that if we are to continue.
