The inaugural Japan Film Festival of San Francisco takes over New People Cinema from July 27 to Aug. 4, playing 15 of the most anticipated imports from Japan.
The fourth feature by writer-director Miwa Nishikawa (winner for Best New Director at the 2004 Yokohama Film Festival for "Wild Berries") is a crime dramedy set in Tokyo.
After the film, Nishikawa will appear in person for a discussion and Q&A.
Synopsis: When their restaurant goes up in flames, a husband and wife come up with a scheme to fund a new one: She'll hunt down lovelorn women, and he'll fleece them of their savings.
