Faithful Cinephiles, we're back for the fifth edition of The Red Lantern Series, our exclusive showcase of the best in cutting-edge and old-school Asian cinema!

This time we present, in partnership with the International Movie Trailer Festival, the San Francisco premiere of "Red Light Revolution," a racy Beijing-set comedy (the debut feature by writer-director Sam Voutas of Australia and producer Melanie Ansley of Beijing) that's fresh off a five-continent festival run.

Just added!  Also on the program will be a couple shorts by San Francisco-based filmmakers James Z. Feng, whose "Fight Life" just won the Best Documentary Jury Award at Tulsa's United Film Festival, and Steven Michael Head.

In addition, we'll raffle off all sorts of movie-themed delights, including a Good Vibrations gift bag and erotic reads courtesy of Cleis Press, and cap off the festivities with a mixer -- all for the price of admission!

Synopsis: A former Beijing cab driver, out of work and living with his parents after his wife leaves him, opens an erotic goods store that becomes the unlikely pride of the neighborhood.

This was a great Meetup screening event that Alby organized & put together. I especially appreciated that he showed a couple of shorts made by Meetup members. I hope that there'll be more screening events like this one in the future.

a light hearted fish outta water comedy on pedaling the XXX stuff in the motherland. good performance by the main character, nicely shot in the Beijing hood, and a few laughs and smirks but, the repeated laughs/gags got tired fast for me and the more it went on the more the support'n cast got all cartoon stoopid. if u wanna feel coodled and not feel dirty bout watch'n a sexy comedy watch this but, if u wants the real dealio & major LOLs check Vulgaria. the sex books i mean um literature giveaways were coo & thx for organizing alby & judy.

The theater was a very nice location and while I thought the world missed out on a great movie judging by the size of the audience I enjoyed the movie so much I forgot all about the world outside the theater.

A little dynamo of a movie: a strong script and cast, warm photography, tight editing and an overall sweet take on an eyebrow-raising subject. And the rest of the program wasn't bad either!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
