Maybe we could have an Ableton subculture get together between official EMM dates?

I'd definitely be down for that.

I'm also down. How many people use live?
It was great seeing everyone tonight!
hey does anyone here specialize with using ableton?

I do. Everything I work on these days is 100% in Ableton.
Thanks for the quick reply keith, ive just started playing around with this the past two months (https://soundcloud.com...), Do you have any advice on how to really learn this program, theres just so much between how to use all the midi and audio effects correctly that adoption has been slower than I would like it to be.

Lots of people seem to be in the same boat, struggling with the learning curve a bit. I personally felt it was one of the most intuitive apps out of any CGI/audio programs I've used. At least as far as production in the arrangement view goes. The other wonky view, which caters more to live performance, is still a mystery to me.
As for tips to learn it, Google/YouTube/GearSlutz are your friends. As are fellow producers/musicians. I think everything I've learned has just been through tinkering, searching online, and talking to my peers. And a lot of what needs to be learned are general mixing techniques, rather than anything Ableton specific. Try not to get too caught up in learning the specific DAW software! Feel free to drop me a line with any specific questions at mechanicalvein -at- gmail.com or www.facebook.com/keithdigital. Glad to help!

My electronic band Mechanical Vein is looking for a keyboard/synth player, so if you're interested or know someone that would be, let's chat about it at the meetup.:-)
