Are you a musician? If so, what tools and instruments are you familiar with, and what is your level of experience?

Until a few years ago ProTools and Logic figured heavily, but these days if I'm working on electronic tunes it's predominantly Max/MSP + my own goodies written in Ruby.

What does electronic music do for you?

Turns me on? Naw, really, it reminds me of the popular tools out there in the world encouraging all kinds of people to think about (or at least experience) music in terms of the materials of sound.
