Photography Critique and Portfolio Review

  • Aug 13, 2014 · 6:30 PM

This is an opportunity to get expert feedback on your photography, to improve your work, and learn professional tips and tricks. Gain insight into your own photography, learn from the work of others, and benefit from the opportunity to network with a small group of fellow photographers.

We're excited to welcome our new sponsor, O'Reilly Books. They've provided us with a great prize to raffle off to a lucky winner at the monthly meeting. Be sure to attend; you must be present to win!

What We Do

We get together monthly at a photography studio in San Francisco, where Photojournalist and Photographer Khaled Sayed will perform a live interactive critique of up to 10 photographs submitted in advance by attendees.

Everyone is encouraged to join us at a local coffee shop after the critique session for more intimate discussion of images and portfolios brought in by attendees.

Attendance is limited to no more than 20 photographers each month and no more than 10 photographs in each critique, to provide focus and attention.

How To Participate

Submit your photographs to the group's public gallery on Tumblr no fewer than five days before the meeting for the opportunity to have your work published on the group's site, and have them be part of the live critique. Each attendee may submit up to three photographs for consideration for each meeting. The moderator will choose the pictures to be discussed before the event, but not all photos submitted will be included in the discussion, or added to the group site.

Please bring your own work to share, or just come to be inspired by your fellow photographers. Everyone is encouraged to bring your portfolio with you in print, on your tablet, or on your own notebook to share with others at a local coffee shop after the presentation.

We do ask attendees for a donation of $5.00 at each meeting to help cover the cost of maintaining the space and the equipment. If you want to pay in advance, or make a different donation, please visit our Eventbrite page.
