Happy Hour at Skates By The Bay

Hi Singles,

Skates is one of the top ten happy hours in the East Bay..It's time we give it a try..... an excellent view, delicious appetizers, tasty drinks,  and next to the water ... What more can you ask for..

http://www.skatesonthebay.com/

Greatful that there are members from all over the bay area who join our meet up in Marin and San Francisco, let's reciprocate and get together in Berkeley..

...and please don't worry about being late; however, keep in mind that happy hour ends at 6pm...Will ask if they can extend the happy hour for our group till 7pm.. Will keep you posted if .....

Cheers,

Jocee

I love this place, and not just for the amazing happy hour! This is a nice, upscale restaurant that's right on the bay, so there's a beautiful view of the bay and the waves crashing on the rocks. It's intimate and perfect for big groups or a date.

The Happy Hour is great! $4 and $5 drinks and $5 appetizers. The hh appetizers are a bit small but yummy, and I love the drinks here! It's a great place to go with friends to hang out and catch up.

The food is also very good! I had the fettucine with tiger prawns, and it was delicious; the sauce was creamy and rich and the noodles retained the flavor of that sauce very well. The salmon chowder was also very good even though it was a little too heavy and thick, and the salmon dish was very good as well, as it was lightly seasoned and well cooked.

Good food and great drinks-- what's not to love about this place?!

Incredible view of the Bay: Check.
Awesome Happy Hour deals: Check.
Mouthwatering food and drinks: Double-Check.
Fun staff, from the cooks to the waiters: Check.

Happy Hour:  M-F 4-6pm & after 10pm-- 1/2 off appetizers and $2.99 on (the best) drinks.

Whats great about Skates? I'd have to say its a tie between the food and the location. When they called themselves Skates on the Bay, they weren't kidding; their entrance in a bridge over water to the front door. From anywhere in the HUGE restaurant, you have a great view of the city, and we watched the sun set directly behind the Golden Gate bridge.

The food was really unique. I was told the dinners are superb, but we just snacked on appetizers.
My recommendations:
* buffalo wings-- best of my life. * battered calamari-- seasoned with jalapeos and lime, they were surprisingly perfect. * Crab spinach dip (need I say more?), and to wash it all down: * Delicious Mojitos and martinis (for $3?!?!?!).
But the best: The Ahi tuna plate (3 kinds) - 5 thick Sashimi-grade pieces, a long line of seared ahi, crusted with crazy peppery seasoning, and ahi tar-tar, which was SO perfect. I walked away more than satisfied, and high from ahi rush. Normally for $25, during happy hour, it was only $12.50. Sweet deal.

They accommodated our after-work party of 15 easily.  The Scottish cook came out and bullshitted with us for a good 15 minutes, a hilariously witty lad, he was. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. Overall, it was a pretty upscale place, everyone dressed nicely from work, but I'd say its pretty down to earth despite the scene.

Make your way out there, you'll be pleased. Its kinda confusing to find, if you're not familiar with the Marina area-- call them for directions

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
