Sail a small boat day! Free!

This unique event is open to everyone - sailors and non-sailors, young and old.  Bring your wetsuit and PFD if you have them.  Otherwise, bring warm, waterproof clothing.

You will likely get wet, so bring a change of clothes and leave anything valuable at home.  Free rides will be available on a first come, first served basis.  If a skipper feels that you aren't properly dressed for his or her boat, or don't have the necessary sailing skills, he or she may suggest that you try a different boat.

See and sail many types of small boats!

This is a great opportunity to meet sailors and boats, and to go sailing.

Free rides and free hot dog lunch!

I heard very positive things about this event in 2010, and 2011, and 2012.

If anyone wants to meet up as a group, lets meet at the top of the outside stairway which leads to an overlook / balcony of sorts. I'll wear my white sailing hat in the meeting area from noon until about noon-thirty, at which time I'll wander around the docks. Hope to see you there! Many cell phones do not work there, fyi. Verizon does, though.

Is it ok for a 7 year old boy to come with me?

    February 10, 2013

    • Sailor D.

Sure, it's okay to bring them. Whether or not they will be able to sail is up to conditions at the moment and skippers discretion, and size of boat and all those other safety factors.
