Spaulding Wooden Boat Center Open House

Spaulding Wooden Boat Center in Sausalito is having an Open house from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Let's meet up at 11:30 and help celebrate the re-opening of the historic boatyard.

Free rides along the Sausalito waterfront on Dixie with Sausalito Historical Society’s Docents!

More info on the boatyard can be found here: http://www.spauldingcenter.org/docs/Boatyard-reopening.pdf

They are are also looking for volunteers to become crew or skipper for the Community Sails Program!

If you bring a bicycle or arrive by bicycle, we can go on a Sausalito marina tour after the Open House.  An easy, slow ride along the waterfront, stopping at anything interesting.

Free parking, free event.

Spaulding Wooden Boat Center is even listed in Wikipedia as a "living museum" and has boat-building classes.  It's a very cool place.

Beautiful day for a boat ride, and some of us went on a bike ride. Fun to learn about the wooden boat building.

It's a "free guided boat tour along the Sausalito waterfront on an adorable wooden powerboat, Dixie". No need to bring much or any gear at all except a jacket or layer or 2 is always a good idea along the Sausalito waterfront, which can be much cooler than East Bay or the further North Bay. It's usually cold here, really.

Kris and i are bringing our bikes. Moved to CA a couple months ago. Looking forward to joining the group, going sailing and riding our bikes. Also interested in exploring volunteer opportunities.
