The Marine Mammal Center in the beautiful Marin Headlands is giving a 1-hour classroom talk on marine mammals in the San Francisco Bay as part of their "Marine Science Sundays" ongoing educational series. These are always very interesting, and are a great free opportunity to learn about the things living in the water we sail in.
Somehow I always thought that it made sailing truly more fun when you see your "friends" in the water, and know something about them.
Learn about the sea lions that frequently visit Pier 39, the return of harbor porpoises to the bay after a 60 year absence, and even the occasional dolphin and whale we see swimming under the Golden Gate Bridge!
Let's meet at 11:40 in the upstairs overlook, or at 11:50 by entry to the classroom, which is located just inside the front door by the info desk. We'll get seated by 11:55 since these talks can be popular.
Not only for adults. Also good for learning-age kids! Free, and free parking.
