FREE Sailing - Gas House Cove Marina/Fort Mason

(Event posted on Joe Schmidt's behalf)

THE WIND IS FREE AND SO IS SAILING ON MY J/24 SAILBOAT!
Come enjoy the beauty of sailing and the spectacular scenery.

Please only RSVP Yes if you're sure you can attend and update your RSVP if your schedule changes. Please do not cancel within 48 hours of the sail, but if it’s unavoidable contact me directly at [masked]. When you RSVP be sure to answer the Question and provide your email address and cell phone number or you will be moved to the Waitlist. Prior to the sail I'll email a waiver release form that each crew member is required to sign.

You should have a waterproof jacket, pants and boots to stay warm and dry. I have extra life jackets if needed. Additionally you may want sailing gloves to avoid rope burn. Prior sailing experience and physical agility is required. My black lab will be joining us on the sail. Please bring your own lunch and a snack to share.

Meet at the park benches in front of Gate 8 of Gas House Cove Marina at 10:00 AM. Free parking is available in the lots west of the marina. Typically we return to the dock around 4 PM, put the boat back together and leave around 5 PM. However, it's not advised to make evening plans in case of a later return.

No Shows for any reason and repeat late cancellations will result in removal from the RSVP list for future sails.

It was fun. A new sailor, Terri, joined us and we all enjoyed going out the Gate and sailing North beyond the Seal Care Center. It was light wind but foggy. By the time we entered the Bay, it was blowing it's typical 25 - 30 knots and we sailed toward Angel Island and with a jibe, we returned to Gas House Cove. Long time sailor on Morena, Brad decided to try out putting a trolling line out ... but darn, no salmon. Joe

Hi Rose and Doris, please take a moment to reaffirm your commitment to go sailing. There is a waiting list and we don't want any no-shows or last-minute changes to no. To be fair, if you're listed as "Going", we expect you to take responsibility to show up!
