This will be a beautiful ride - the vineyards will be bright w/ reds, oranges, and yellows! This is an incredibly beautiful time of the year here in Sonoma County.

We'll ride over Chalk Hill Rd into Alexander Valley, where we'll stop for a snack and do some tasting at one of the wineries there. Then we'll ride over to Dry Creek Valley, making a stop at one of my favourite wineries (I'm not telling) where we'll have lunch on their beautiful grounds (bringy our own - lunch that is). From there we'll ride through the Dry Creek region and back to Santa Rosa. This will be a full day of fun, and sometiimes challenging riding, and a chance to see some amazing Sonoma County Autumn colors!

This ride is posted on other Meetup sites and will be agood chance oto meet other riders.

What To Bring:

Snacks, water, and a lunch.

Wear: Sunscreen, layered clothing, your helmet.

I pack a few fruit bars and at least one sandwich for lunch.

Preparation:

Fill your tires the day/eve before.
Have your bike tuned and in good shape.

Getting out for a couple nice rides before this one (on your own if necessary) would help.

A repair kit (optional, though always suggested - at least a spare tube is highly recomended). I'll have a pump.

As always, your sense of humour is required!

This has always been one of my favourite rides because it combines some nice climbing, quick downhills, absolutely breathtaking scenery, and some very nice vino! We stopped at Sausal and Mozzacco Wineries. Sausal we found out has been bought and will be closing at the end of the yr. Too bad they're a great winery. Bought for it's land by Silver Oak (produces strictly Cabs), because they own land just down the road and it produces great grapes. The good news - Mozzacco! No bad wine in the house. Even their entry level Zins are amazing. Discovered them at last March's barrel tasting and have been taking people there ever since. Top notch - period. Oh the ride - weather was killer - 74* and what a beautiful day! I'll try to get some pics posted, even though no one showed from here! Seriously this was a fantastic ride that you should take when I repeat it sometime in early Spring. The scenery is just amazing, as you'll see from the pics.
