I've never done a backpack trip, but definitely up for it...that is, if I am considered as one of your "select peeps". In addition to Half-Dome, do you plan on going up Cloud's Rest? Is that too much? Perhaps my brain re-wire needs some adjustment...th

Alex is back! I hope you have been well and survived these past months without me:-) The bunionectomy and neurectomy went well. I have gone back to playing tennis and ready for some hiking adventure. How about we do Cloud's Rest this year?
Btw, I just previewed all your photos...you were on a roll of beautiful shots, then you included one of me...plain 'ol me. Flattering, though. Hope to see you soon!!!

ha ha, chas. no, i don't plan on flaking! i do need to know, however, what time you think i can make it back to san francisco. i have to be back by 5 pm. do you think i can get back by or before 5 pm? i hope so, because, if i can't i won't be able to go : ( what do you think? it's only 6 miles, but, with the lunch and vino, er, water breaks, it could take quite a while.
Chas- The January 21 hike says to meet at the free parking area outside Sugarloaf...I may be wrong, but as far as I know, Sugarloaf is closed, and the parking is off-limits- I have heard that it is posted that you will get a $70 ticket if you park there. Hope I am wrong, but heard it on pretty good authority--unle
