It's supposed to be about 78 degrees at Point Reyes on Sunday according to weather.com...So here is a beautiful and easy to moderate 9.4 mile hike with our lunch spot at the edge of a drakes head with a great view. Bring lunch and something to share if u like [tastier snacks get you more friends ;)].
Hike Highlights: grasslands, ocean views, fun people and wildlife, with possibility of seeing bat rays and small leopard sharks swimming just below the water's surface at Drakes head, if we are lucky [we saw them last time]. So bring binoculars if you like.
Meet at the trailhead parking lot at 11:00AM.
From SF, cross the golden gate bridge and keep on 101 North.
Near San Rafael, you'll see exits to 'richmond bridge' and 'san anselmo'.
Take the san anselmo exit which curves left and takes you to Sir Francis Drake blvd.
Continue west on Sir Francis Drake to Olema.
At Olema, u will reach a T-intersection [by the Olema Inn] with hiway 1.
Turn right [onto hiway 1 north] and then after about a block turn left again into 'bear valley road'.
After about 2 miles, Bear Valley Road ends at Sir Francis Drake; turn left.
Continue on Sir Francis Drake about 7.5 more miles, and turn left at the sign "Estero Trail." Drive slowly (there may be cows on this narrow road) about 1 more mile to the trailhead on the right side of the road.
Compare the above directions with a map and figure out your own directions :)
