This will be around 8 mile moderate hike at this beautiful park with lunch/nap at a beautiful secluded grassy area with shade. Supposed to be warm on Sunday.
Hike Highlights: Mines, possibly wines, views, green rolling hills, flowers, cows, chocolates and fun people :)
Bring enough water [going to be about 80 degrees], lunch and something to share if u like [tastier snack gets you more friends ;)].
Also bring headlamp or flashlight if you like to explore part of a tunnel [prospect tunnel]. It seems 200ft of that tunnel is open to public.
Meet at the trail head parking lot at 11:30AM [It's the parking lot at the end of the road, not the one at the park office]
Directions and meeting location:
From SF/Oakland: Take 24 East and at the 680 interchange, exit Ygnacio Valley Road (exit 46b). Drive east on Ygnacio Valley Road about 8 miles, then the road changes into Kirker Pass. Continue about 5 miles on Kirker Pass to the junction with Buchanan. Turn right and drive about 3 miles to Somersville Road. Turn right and drive to the park entrance. Park at the parking lot at the end of the road.
From South bay: Take 680 North and exit to Ygnacio Valley Road and follow the directions above.
Google maps will probably take you through hiway 4 which is a bit faster, but the directions above is more scenic and a few mins slower.
Approx. GPS to the trailhead parking lot: N[masked] W[masked]
I think there is a $5 fee for parking there.
Dogs are permitted in the park [I think there is a $2 fee for dogs] :)
After the hike, we can have dinner/drinks either at Clayton or Walnut creek along the way if there is interest :)
See u there! :)
Disclaimer: Its your own responsibility to look after yourself on the hike if u decide to join us. You assume all the risks including sharing my food ;)
