Hike at Sam McDonald County Park

Hi All,
This will be about 7 mile easy to moderate hike through redwood forests and ridges with great views with a lunch spot at a nice overlook under the sun :).

Hike Highlights: Redwood forests, banana slugs, views and fun people.

 


We can meet at the park parking lot at 11:30am.

Directions:
From SF: Take Highway 280 South, exit Highway 84 west [woodside road]. Drive west on Highway 84/La Honda Road about 6 miles, to the junction with Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard). Continue straight on La Honda Road/84, about 6.5 miles, to the easy-to-miss junction with Pescadero Road [just after you pass the town of La Honda]. Turn left. Drive about 1 mile south on Pescadero Road, and bear right at the junction with Alpine Road [stay on pescadero rd.]. Continue about .5 mile on Pescadero Road, to the park entrance on the right (drive slowly, as the entrance is undersigned)

The directions are approximate. Use the google maps with the coordinates below to find your own route :)

There is about a $6.00 [or may be $8 dont remember] parking fee there to park in the parking lot, You may need exact change [its a self service if nobody is there].

No dogs allowed in the park sad

Bring lunch and something to share if u like. Remember, tastier snacks get you more friends ;)

    Hi All, driving in...first event...quite possibly a stupid question...I am visiting and don't really have trekking attire...is that going to be an issue? Also, if anybody needs a ride, I am driving in from Mountain View/Palo Alto....I have spaces for 7 people! :) Cheers!
