Memory Competition Training Techniques

We're going to be organizing a memory competition in San Francisco. It will be open to people of all levels.

In this meetup, I can show people an overview of some techniques that "mental athletes" use in the competitions:

  • Memorize random numbers (e.g.,[masked])
  • Memorize names and faces
  • Memorize playing cards
  • Memorize random words
  • The memory palace technique
  • and more...

This will be the first memory competition in San Francisco, and a beginner who starts training now will potentially be good enough to win the event!

At this meetup, we'll probably have time to get an overview of the main events. I'll pass out some papers that you can use to practice at home.
