Super awesome games on tuesdays

Tuesday is game night here at my place in Soma.  It's been about a year now and we usually get a rotating cast of characters coming by for some games.  Here is a link listing all the games we have on the shelves.

Just a warning, we tend to focus on mostly more involved strategy games, at least a few steps beyond something like Settlers of Catan in complexity.  So if you are new to gaming and potentially adverse to learning a bunch of rules, this game night may not be for you.

That being said, it is definitely nice to have new people show up and I am always learning and teaching new games - it isn't strictly competitive. So it's definitely possible to come and enjoy playing some games without knowing all the rules strategies already.

P.S.  We usually spend about 15 minutes deliberating which game to play, but if you are going to be after 7:15 or so please try and post something here so we can wait for you.

Also it is sort of BYOB/food but sometimes we order pizza.

Would anyone like to play Ora et Labora this evening? This video tells all about it. http://boardgamegeek.com/video/24473/ora-et-labora/starlit-citadel-reviews-ora-labora

I think I should play because I'm badass. Although something tells me Jenny's gonna get in before me.

While I'm only a lowly waitlist person, not yet highly enough esteemed in the eyes of those oh-most-powerful to actually join on Tuesday (until such a time as one of those superior creatures decides to provide such a vacancy to us yearning fools), I'll put in an early vote for Container (to appease the Prince of Shnozzberries), Stephenson's Rocket, or Baltimore & Ohio. I'd also (separately) like to put in a vote to bring about a policy of playing at least one of the first-round games from the previous week again in each subsequent week. This would be to allow players the ability to develop some familiarity and confidence in games over time (rather than "oh, I played that once two months ago, I didn't understand it and don't know if I want to try again and repeat the cycle").

All of the above sound good to me, also wanted to add Imperial and Indonesia to the list of games where my last play is too far in the past for my liking.

The idea is that you would select (vote) on one game from the last week to have a group of people play again, the others would all be new (or more than one could be a repeat if desired). That way if you didn't like what you played last week you wouldn't be forced.
