Time to buy/sell shares of companies which are prospering or failing during this make-or-break Black Friday session.
1862 seems like a likely candidate. 1862 is *not* friendly to new players in the slightest, but if we have sufficient new players there can be a side session.
At my place unless Joe wishes to host.
As always, if you don't know the rules of the game you are playing, please arrive on time. Anyone arriving more than 30 minutes late without sufficient advance notice will not be included in the full rules explanation and likely in the game itself.
The 18xx games are extremely difficult economic games where you will calculate 60% of $230 about 437 times an hour. Calculators are recommended. Many people complain "it feels like work." It is, however, an extremely powerful, deep, and flexible system. Expect an intro-game to take at least 3-5 hours, possibly as many as 7, with more experienced-player games often taking longer.
1862 takes the 18xx system and adds a lot of overhead to it (nearly as much as 1817). Expect to be confused.
I have a hard stop around 8 p.m.
