Sign up for the Oakland walking tour

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • I have gone on two walking /eating tours with this company and wonder if there is any interest. It is a self pay per person but if we have 10 or more sign ups there is some price off. Localite Tours. Check it out. It is just perfect for smart types since it is full of culture and information while being both beautiful and delicious.

Sounds interesting. Quick question for you all: I'm working (or nerding out? not sure) on a beta platform and I need to get feedback from beta testers. http://bit.do/5j5a

Can anyone help me out with this? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Hi - I can give a free walking tour (or for tips) starting at the Lakeshore area and ending at the museum (probably 1.5 mile walk). I love Oakland and have lived here a long time. Saturday mornings are great because of the farmers market.

I'd be interested! Particularly the retro cocktail tour, or Pork. (Basically, any of them that start after noon...)

In my experience it may not be realistic to get enough people to go to a costly event (much less commit/pay in advance to assure a group discount, in Oakland, on a weeknight) so I wouldn't wait for critical mass. I recommend putting a stake in the ground -- pick a tour, pick a day (a month or so out for ramp-up time) -- to give people something concrete to respond to. I'm not sure what options you have as a non-organizer to talk to the group, but investigate what actions you can take to get additional reminders/notices sent out. I've taken city tours before like Phoenix posted and they are a good option, but I'm certainly more attracted to mixing architecture with cocktails/snacks!
