San Francisco Chihuahua/Small Dog January Meetup

Start the New Year off right with an afternoon at Stern Grove with your BFFs! There will be hot coffee and nice treats to warm you up. We will have wonderful dogs available for adoption and we will take time out to meet all of these little dogs. And we will have rescue groups there to discuss how to be a foster parent and what it means to the dogs and YOU! So put on a nice warm jacket and bundle up the pup(s) and let's kick of 2010 with style! DIRECTIONS The entrance to the dog park is located off of Sloat Boulevard just west of 19th Avenue. Drive west on Sloat and turn right on Vale. Drive one block and cross Crestview where you will see the gate to the dog park. Drive down the steep hill and voila, there is the large parking lot. Use Google or Yahoo Maps for the best directions! It is not always easy to find if you are new to the group...so print up directions.

It's always great to get together with friends and doggies, especially in a picturesque setting on a bright sunshiny day. We ESPECIALLY like the opportunity to re-connect with GDR and the other rescue groups. We admire them so much for the work they do and just rubbing shoulders keeps us feeling go until we can see them next meetup. We like the people, we like the dogs, we like the setting. More people should come.

I think that this meetup was very good. I had a lot of fun and my girl had a ton of fun. When we got home they slept for hours, they really like it this time. The weather was nice. and the only bad thing was the mud and the wet grass, and the big dogs owners letting their big dogs harass our little ones but apart from that everything was great.

All sorts of dogs, mostly small, but some big dogs that think they are small, cavorted in the winter sunlight. The people and dogs were lovely and the event is well-organized. I look forward to next month's meet-up.

There were more dogs and folks than I can remember at the past meetups. I was very happy to see our foster dogs behave so sociably. They are on their way to be civilized. Hahaha. It was a lovely day to share with our dogs.

    Thanks!

Michele, there are lots of cars & dogs as you enter Stern Grove/Pine Lake Dog Park. I don't let mine off leash until we are in the grassy area by about 100 ft. If your dog won't be on a leash, I strongly suggest carrying her down the hill and through the parking lot. See you on Sunday!

For those of you who come by MUNI, we live in the general area and walk over. If you take the L train to 32nd, then walk south on 33rd to Wawona you will come a park entrance. Go down the paths and you will get there. Easily located on google maps.
