Introduction
I moved to San Francisco in April 2008. I've been playing records on and off at parties since 2004. I had a club night in 2008 at Underground SF called Yacht. I've guest DJed at Honey Soundsystem and made a mix for their Potcast series in 2010.
What would you like to get out of this meetup group?
More deck time. Production advice. New friends.
What equipment / software do you use?
Vinyl records. Roland SP-808ex, Korg Electribe EMX-1, x0xb0x, Pioneer EFX-1000.
What would you like to learn the most?
I would like to learn more about production techniques, synthesizers, and drum machines. I want to learn more about how to incorporate devices into DJ sets or live sets.
What do you need the most help with?
I need to develop a feel for playing records in different spaces and working with a club's monitoring system to properly EQ records to sound right in those spaces. This should come with more experience. I also want to learn more about stringing drum machines and synths together using MIDI to build a live setup.
If you already DJ, how long have you been DJ-ing?
7 1/2 years.
