Introduction
I'm a newbie just getting into DJing. Got a Traktor S4 about 6 months ago, have done a few events (meetups, startup crawls, house parties, etc.) but nothing major. Just doing it for the love at the moment :)
What would you like to get out of this meetup group?
Meet other DJs in the area. Learn from them.
What equipment / software do you use?
I have a Native Instruments Traktor S4, that and my laptop is all i need.
What would you like to learn the most?
Currently I've done a lot of stuff with taking tracks and mixing them / filtering / loops etc. However, I'd love to learn more about where DJs get good samples from, how they do composition, etc.
What do you need the most help with?
Understanding how to break tracks down into their componentized layers so i can get just the vocal, beat, etc.
If you already DJ, how long have you been DJ-ing?
6 months, but just as small events.
