As a high school speech and debate coach, I help teach students tangible skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. This experience has inspired me to continue exploring how to offer young people more opportunities for growth and success.
As someone who worked in public finance, I helped structure bonds for school districts. This meant meeting extensively with professionals in education. It appeared to me that educators and administrators alike must often juggle new rules, regulations and politics before addressing the needs of students. Plus, being a recent college graduate, I'm no stranger to the struggles of those trying to pursue higher education either. From the rising costs of tuition and living expenses, higher ed suffers the same increases in costs and decreases in quality that we see in the K-12 sector. Significant policy-driven solutions have proven to be cumbersome and difficult to implement. Therefore, I am looking to find solutions that disrupt and help improve our broken systems.
I am new to EdSurge, having just found out about it on MeetUp, but I definitely plan to, now!
Same as above: new to education technology, eager to learn more!
I am a former financial analyst for the public sector who now works as a stand-up comedian, actor, and high school speech and debate coach. My experience in public finance gives me a unique passion to learn more about education technology.
