Tell us a bit about yourself

I have worked in new media and recently I have been making a transition to education. Previously, I received my BA from San Francisco State University in Radio and Television with an emphasis in writing and new media. I completed my MA in Digital Media and Learning from the University of San Francisco in 2012 and I have an interest in working in education from a technology background. I currently teach Middle and High School at a charter school in Alameda.

What is your role or interest in education technology?

I believe that education has been behind the times for too long and needs to harness the power and possibilities of using technology in the classroom. There is so much potential for transformative learning with the tools that at our disposal today. In some of my work at USF I have learned many different, meaningful uses of technology in pedagogy that truly enhance the learning experience and prepares our students for the future. We focus both on building cognitive skills and technology skills that prepare students to be successful in the world they live in and beyond.
