Game Producer


Kidlandia, a consumer products & social entertainment startup, venture-backed and based in San Francisco, seeks a full time Game/Activity Producer.

The Company:

Founded in 2008, Kidlandia is dedicated to creating beloved personalized goods and activities that tell “the story of you.” The Company, experiencing extraordinary momentum, is a destination ecommerce & entertainment website, a provider to retailers, and a flexible platform for social merchandise of all kinds. Mass personalization is the future of retail growth, and the Kidlandia platform enables the most sophisticated personalization in the market today. The Company has a proven product that kids and parents love, licensing deals with the biggest names in media, and distribution deals with some of the world’s top retailers. The seasoned management team has deep experience in media, games, and consumer products.


The Role

Kidlandia’s Game Producer will develop product specifications and project manage the execution of a new digital destination for kids and families.  They will also be responsible for the associated physical products, taking projects from design to marketplace.  A creative self-starter, the right candidate will be a team player excited to work in a startup environment. This position reports to the CTO, with dotted-line reporting to the CEO.


  • Own both the activity/game definition and physical product from the design stage through release
  • Own product release deadlines and calendar, ensuring timely delivery against milestones

·       Develop and maintain technical specification and budget

·       Oversee creative (art and design) and technical development

·       Manage quality assurance

·       Arrange beta testing and focus groups

·       Arrange localization

·       Act as a liaison between the different departments: work with the CTO, Web Development, Marketing and Merchant teams to define and document requirements

  • Analyze and document technical issues and work with the appropriate lead to develop solutions.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding technical needs
  • Communicate with operations team for product training
  • Maintain the product database

Required Experience:

  • Ability to manage in the design, technical, and business realms
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and to “wear many hats”
  • Detail oriented and milestone driven
  • Strong technical skills and a detailed understanding of software systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and determine root causes
  • Must work independently and demonstrate personal initiative
  • Inspirational and motivational to teammates – leads by example
  • Team player, with the ability to collaborate and drive change
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of experience
