In-Motion Game Jam is a game event that raises the awareness of people with disabilities and the increasing movement of touchless control devices like Kinect. On July 27-29, 2012, In-Motion Game Jam will be held at the Bethel Center at 2557 Alemany Boulevard in San Francisco, CA. Developers, artists, and other creative professionals will gather during a 48-hour period to make one or more games to target the usage for and awareness of people with disability. Participants will use Unity game engine and a middleware product developed by ZigFu, which utilizes a motion capturing device capable of connecting with your computer.
Vast Apps, Inc., a game and app developer for smartphones, tablets, PCs, and motion devices, will be the sponsor and lead organizer of this non-profit fundraising hackathon. In partnership with Vast Apps, Inc., ZigFu, a middleware developer, will be used in conjunction with Unity to create games. Most importantly, the Bethel Center will graciously host the location space for the game jam.
Vast Apps, Inc., the primary organizer, is in search for other sponsors to assist in the execution of this event. I, Angelo Hizon, co-Founder of Vast Apps, am searching for any advice as to how to market the event and reach a larger audience. In addition, I am looking for companies that would like to sponsor any prizes to winning teams that fulfill the criterion of creating a game that helps teach vocational living skills to people with disabilities.
