Dart for Breakfast (CodeLab)

Coffee, breakfast, and Dart!

Join us for a fun morning of hacking and tasty treats as the Dart team leads you through your first Dart code lab. This hands-on lab is written to take you, step-by-step, through building your first Dart app. Along the way, you'll learn about the Dart language, libraries, Web UI package for building on Web Components, WebSocket, and more. You'll leave the lab with a working multi-person chat application, all built with Dart!

This code lab is battle tested, so you'll have an easy and fun time learning a familiar and productive web programming language. No prior experience with Dart is necessary (just bring your laptop), although some web programming familiarity is recommended. You should be familiar with object-oriented programming. This event is free, thanks to the awesome folks at Goodreads and Google. Space is limited, so sign up soon, but please update your RSVPs if you change your plans.

And to get ready, make sure you join us this Thursday for the monthly meetup about Dart.

Great event with very clear instructions to get dart running and working. Thanks and worth the early morning commute. I think you would have a lot of interest in the peninsula/south bay area.

Got up at the crack of dawn to hack the Dart. No regrets.
It got me started. Lots of homework to do because there's much more to learn (and come up).
Dart Team: thanks for this Saturday morning - it was a productive opportunity.

    • Vanessa Wang

Please ask Security when you arrive. They may be able to give you access to the bike parking in the building.

More info on bike parking: bike parking in the building is unlikely to be available to us tomorrow, but there are apparently plenty of bike racks outside. Thanks!

    Any recommendations for parking nearby?

    February 25

    • Vanessa Wang

It's Saturday morning, so parking meters will be in effect. There are lots of parking garages nearby, even on the same block/street.
