Pride Parade

Once again, Bay Area Humanists will be joining the Atheist/Humanist contingency in the LGBT Pride Day Parade.

We now have updated information on our Atheist/Humanist Contingent gathering place and time. We gather by 11:30 as Contingent #160 on the West Side of Main between Howard and Mission.

Again this year several local groups will march as the Atheist/Humanist Groups Contingent in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 28th. Our lead banners declare: "Stop the Religious Oppression of LGBT's." This movement is a natural ally for us, and it provides a blueprint for our own movement.

See how exhilarating it is when so many people cheer us on. Help us make our movement real. Please join our contingent.

Please note our exact gathering information and our contingent number. There is a huge crowd present, and larger groups can make us hard to find.

Parade staff wants us in place by 11:30.

It was a blast! The late start gave me time to co-mingle with other contingents. Er, i mean mingle :D
Thx Larry and Jim for organizing. It was an honor to help carry the Atheist banner at Pride.

every section of the route, a group of spectator started shouting their support for atheism. there's hope for humanity :)

Yes, overall still a fun day, somewhat disappointed in atheist and humanist turnout but very pleased how the spectators responded to our non-theist natural world philosophy. rh

As the organizer of the contingent, I have been unable to contact Jim for several days about updating the info on this event. Here is the info, including time and location. I hope Jim is OK.

"Consistent" meaning unchanged? It's confusing to receive a "time/location changed" notice if they didn't actually change. It looks like the change notice sent 6/24 has no change, compared to the change notice sent 6/18.

For clarification, the information that is in the link provided by Larry is the same as that which I sent out earlier to folks on the Bay Area Humanist Meetup and those who RSVPed for the event. I have now updated the information on the Meetup also.
