Thanks, Vikram! No worries... sooner or later, I end up getting most of the popular neuroscience books anyway. :-)

    Kiran,
My sincerest apologies for you having to buy two books that are not immediately being discussed. I am optimistic that we will discuss them soon. If not as a full group, those of us who plan to read it (including me) can always meet separately and discuss it.

What a coincidence! I was intrigued by that book when I saw it in the poll and decided to get a copy even if it was not selected. I received it last Thursday.

I think Vikram has been wanting to do "Inside Jokes" for awhile. Are we OK with this one first?

Since both books seemed interesting from the reviews, I got both. My 2 cents: Compass of Pleasure, which is more general/topical, should be read before the more “meatier” Connectome.
I look forward to meeting & discussing these books with all of you!

Both books are tied at the polls :-)
Why propose we commit to both (one after the other). Any suggestions for the first one (for July)?

    May 24, 2012

  • David Wallace C.

    Yes to skipping June.

We seem to enjoy discussing the whole book at once after reading it over 2 months. I suppose we will not be meeting in June and shall cancel that meeting if we are all in agreement.

Both look good and have good reviews. I vote for The Compass of Pleasure.

Let's commit to a book. Slow reader + busy schedule = need to know. ;-)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
