Special Screening of Us Now featuring a keynote with Don Tapscott

Join Don Tapscott at a screening of
Us Now, a UK documentary about how Web 2.0 inspires people to participate in their communities in new ways. The film's strength is its appeal to a broad audience; it speaks well to non-techies and boomers; a perfect fit for our NetTuesday audience. It’s a great conversation starter for people to take back and discuss Web 2.0 opportunities in their communities. Featured speakers include Don Tapscott, Clay Shirky, Alan Cox, Charles Leadbeater among others. After the screening, Don will give a keynote presentation on the role of technology in community engagement, and open the conversation up to the attendees. The Evening's Agenda: 7:00pm Doors Open 7:15pm - 8:15pm Film Screening 8:15pm - 8:45pm Don Tapscott's Keynote address and Q & A 8:45pm - 9:00pm Informal socializing & wrap-up 9:00pm Close Net Tuesdays, One Web Day and Open Everything groups, and so far Paris, Portland, Ottawa, Australia, New York and San Francisco are also planning screenings as part of global social tech recognition days this Fall. Great documentary. Having Don there for Q & A afterwards was an added bonus.

The film was excellent - only thing I'd change was to have more time to discuss in the room at the end (transferring people to another venue is tough) -- so maybe start movie at 7:15pm sharp or even the event earlier (then again, starting b4 7 is tough too so I sympathize!).

I thought the movie went a little too long, at the expense of hearing more from Don. It would have been good to cut the movie short in order to give Don appropriate air time.
