Let’s Learn About Using Bitcoin for Social Good

Join us on April 8th when we’ll have Ryan Breslow, the founder of Sites by Hand and a research scientist with the Stanford Bitcoin Group, and Jake Zeller, an entrepreneur and investor working on a project in the Bitcoin space.

This session will help you understand what Bitcoin is, how it works, and how nonprofits and social good orgs might benefit by using the Bitcoin network.

Wondering how Bitcoin fits into prospect research and fundraising? Wondering if there are reliability and accountability issues with Bitcoin? This is the session for you.

Please come with your questions. There will be time for a Q&A with Ryan and Jake after their presentation.

Check out the comments below for Bitcoin primers too. :)

• 6:30 PM: Time for networking and snacks

• 7:00-8:00PM: Ryan and Jake present and during/after we have a Q&A

• 8:00-8:30PM: more networking, more snacking, clean up and go home.

Thanks to Ryan and Jake for lots of useful information. I was not seriously considering making an investment into bitcoin, but not it sounds like something worth a try.

Quick question: how much electricity do your rigs consume each month and how much do you mine?

    April 7, 2014

  • Curtis T.

Hey all - I started a cleantech company that pays people for reducing their electricity usage. We've been debating whether to flip on payments using bitcoin, so I'd love any opinions you have. Check us out at ohmconnect.com, looking forward to your thoughts next week.

I would be happy to answer questions and share some of our experience from holding a fundraiser using bitcoin. I am trying to get my Partner Davi Barker(seen in video) to join me at this event.
