Some great news! For those of you who won't be able to attend our January 10th event, Craig Newmark Talks About Technology for the Common Good, we're setting up to live stream it on UStream! This will also be great for anyone who wants to view it after the event!

I spoke to Craig today to confirm some details. I just wanted to check in to say I'm very excited and look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday. Bring your laptops, smartphones and tablets, and be ready to tweet. We'll be launching our new hashtag during the event too.

What I'm hoping is folks who can't make it (hint, hint) remove themselves from the list. I switched it to a manual wait list so that folks get an alert that a spot has opened up.
However, with so many people waiting, not everyone is going to be able to attend. :( I hope you get in. If you don't we're live streaming it and we'll have a Twitter chat going too. Just track the #sfn2 hashtag during the event.

He took the time to talk to people after his talk and the Q&A. Turn out was good. Plus, by the end of the event the snacks were gone. That's always good! The goal is to keep the momentum going!

Karil Daniels+1 guestCraig has a fabulous, dry sense of humor and obviously a very big heart. It was great to hear him talk about the inception and growth of craigslist, his current philanthropic priorities, and keeping the focus on doing what you love, whatever it is.
