To understand costs needed for any business, we need to properly budget and account for a proper war chest to cover costs to give the business enough legs to run.

Attending several of these meetups, I think this is an area that entrepreneurs needs help in... budgeting correctly for a VC, Angel, Loan.

We are very fortunate have Gary help us learn how to prepare Cash Flow section of your business plan. This workshop is a great way to get started and prepare for the event we are planning for the entrepreneurs to present their ideas to the angels and VC's.

Presenter: Gary Geschwind

After receiving my Ph.D. in Materials Science from Columbia University he worked for Grumman Aerospace, where he was responsible for managing the Materials Research group. There he started a program of process materials in zero-gravity which led to over $5M in NASA contracts. From there he moved to the Raychem Corp. (now Tyco Electronics) where he ran several groups and worked in product development, business development and marketing. While there, with two colleagues, we started ELF to commercial a series of patents that one of the founders had developed and raised $8M in VC funding. Upon leaving that company, he did consulting and worked for several small companies. At the same time, he next started and raised $1M just before the dot-com collapse. Following that, he managed a large group at a consulting company, EPRI servicing the electric power industry. Several years ago, he was one of the co-founders of and is currently engaged in starting another company in the iPhone app space.
