Hey everyone -

I'm excited to hit you with some fun stuff... in 10 tasty nuggets. Here goes:

1) The last event was killer! Pleo, the robotic dinosaur stole the show.
You can view pictures @ http://flickr.com/photos/tags/sfnt/show/ (I think I saw you in there!)

2) The 5/13 SF New Tech event is hereby announced! Wine, Women and a whole lot more! Come check out where the beauty of the female form is headed online; a wicked-handy web app to pick the best bottle of vino every time; the latest and greatest from "Silicon Valley's phone company"; how to make your photos talk and say funny things; and a widget that can help your visitors share, save, and subscribe to your content.
Demos on tap: Zivity, Nirvino, Razz, Add to Any, and Ribbit!
More info and tickets @ http://may13sfnt.eventbrite.com (Don't worry, I'll be sending another email about this soon.)

3) It's almost time for camp -- Startup Camp, that is! On May 4th and 5th, you're invited to hang out with Om Malik, Pete Cashmore, Matt Marshall, Jonathan Schwartz, and others at Sun’s Startup Camp! It's free and it's yours for the taking! Register today and tell 'em SF New Tech sent ya: http://wiki.startupcamp.org/wiki/AboutStartupCamp

4) Wednesday, May 7th is Belly Up Day! See you at the Mars Bar!
RSVP: http://maybellyup.eventbrite.com/

5) We're money, baby. CNN/Money that is.
Read about our royal geekiness on CNNmoney.com. Therese Poletti quoted me but left out a key (F) word. "The No. 1 question is what's your ... business model." Ha. Therese was also apparently inspired by the demos at our "Geek Meet Up" to wonder aloud: "... if we might miss the next Google or Facebook if the public markets don't warm up soon."
Read it here: http://tinyurl.com/6yzcut

6) On 4/23, right smack in the center of the Web 2.0 brouhaha, SF New Tech is helping throw one of the biggest bashes of the year on behalf of Chi.mp (http://chi.mp) and Mashable (http://www.mashable.com) to celebrate the evolution of the web to become more free and open. EVOLVE with us! The first 100 people to use the comp code "sfntevolve" get in FREE.
Visit: http://evolve.eventbrite.com

7) In June we're throwing a special Widget Wednesday event. Working on a widget? Want to show it off? Hit this and tell us all about it: http://www.sfnewtech.com/demo

8) The SF New Tech Mailing List is alive and ... limping. Herein is a resource for the community to send requests/needs/wants/desires out to the group. What a lot of folks still don't quite get is that you need to reply directly to the sender versus to the entire list. I've been doing the best I can moderating this thing but frankly I'm not the best den mom. I'll continue to do it but please, please, please make a note of the basic rules: 1) Reply to the sender, not the group! 2) No commercial solicitations 3) Have fun and be nice! The email address for group members to distribute a message is [address removed] (Please note, I won't be around to approve messages until FRIDAY. Read that sentence again.)

9) Got a success story from your SF New Tech experience? Get a job? Get funding? Find a developer? Make a million dollars? Get a girlfriend/boyfriend? Realize you no longer need your meds? Anything? We want to know about it!
Please share! https://sfnt.wufoo.com/forms/success-story/

10) Shout outs : Thanks to Kevin "Thunderberry" Rochowski for all the help. Thanks to Matt Silvey for the pictures. Thanks to Mariva Aviram for all the great questions. Thanks to Tractor.tv for the great new site! Thanks to Mighty for the killer venue. Thanks to our sponsors: Sun, VenCore Capital, Jacobs & Ferraro, Future-Works, Mylermedia, and ServePath/GoGrid for your continued support of the community... and thanks to YOU for reading this whole freakin' thing!

See you soon! (I'm off to Vermont for a few days! Yehaw!)
