Hey Guys! I'm one of the largest Meetup Organizers in Austin, TX. I'm coming to Visit San Francisco. I'd love to meet you guys and share my experiences and some of the top techniques of meetup. Anyone interested in me putting together an event for this group? I'll be on vacation to San Francisco June 4-9th. - Matt

It was a good conversation and it will be interesting to see if we continue to build a core group of organizers and what our core vision becomes.

Sorry i couldn't make it. I'll be a future event, and I am eager to participate in building that vision.

Who are the "top Meetup Organizers" that are going to be on the panel?

The panel idea has not been realized for tonight's event . . . Unless we have volunteers from the attendees . . . ;)

Bring your best ideas, suggestions, and questions tonight. We are going to crowdsource. Looking like a great group of organizers.

Part of our crowd source plan is to ask each of our attendees: "What's your cause?". Each Meetup Group represents a community which has rallied around a central cause, one usually defined by the group organizer. Tonight's event will explore that idea.

I am sorry I misse the event with Jonathan. Are there future events where he will be a participant. And is there a way to contact him.

    Thanks

I'm sorry I won't be able to make it tonight - client dinner engagement. Hope the meeting is productive! I wish there was a summary of highlights available after the meeting.

    HI Joe

Any chance you'd host one of these in the North Bay? I live in Santa Rosa but Petaluma or even Marin could be great so we could meet the local organizers.

After letting these comments swirl about my mind for a week it just came to me what we're asking for - some form of Premium Account that allows us more control over our group and better access to Meetup HQ. I mentioned this in the discussion with Scott that the website is fine as a template, but super-users should be able to manipulate what they show or don't show.
I'm not making a suggestion (yet) as to what this break-point should be, only that we should discuss what this Premium level would look like.

The discussion from the Meet Scott event helped me focus on what I need to do to build the leadership team of my meetup. This will also help me figure out what the Meetup platform can and cannot do for me, and to be specific in what changes I want from Meetup HQ.

We've had an amazing conversation on the event page of our last meeting (the 'Meet Scott' event). Let's continue that momentum in the conversation for this event. It will help us tailor the panel discussion for the upcoming event.
