Getting members to RSVP for events
The SF/Bay Area Red Sox Meetup Group
Would love to meet other organizers in the area and exchange ideas and best practices for running successful groups!
Having this group is a great idea. I wish there were more regularly scheduled sessions each year, and that the sessions could be moved around the bay area (south bay, peninsula, east bay) to enable more organizers from outside the city to attend/participate. There seem to be certain topics that are always popular, probably because there are always new organizers just getting started -- monetizing, marketing, getting sponsorships, etc. These would be good sessions to have annually. But certainly there are other topics organizers may want to get together and discuss -- not just how to get members but how to get them engaged and attending meetups; best practices for organizing joint meetups; best practices around using the Meetup site features and functionality (workarounds, shortcuts, quick fixes, etc.); a session where organizers look at meetup sites and talk about what looks good, what works, what could be better, what to add, what to take away, etc. So many possibilities!
