I have set the date to 30th July (Saturday), since the "Bhutto" screening is not happening on that date at PACC

Since we need to do the screening around 6ish, because of ramadan I don't think August will be a good month to get a good attendance. I am thinking to schedule this for coming Saturday 23rd of July (since the saturday after that "Bhutto" is being screened at PACC). Let me know if this time doesn't work for anyone here

I suggest that we go ahead and do this screening in SF and we can ask to do a similar one at PACC afterwards. Shanzay, I am going to go ahead and set PG&E as the location, thats cool, right? About the date, does anyone have any other suggestions? For the time, I'd like us to meet a little early so that people can meet and greet for a while and then after the movie we can discuss it over dinner

Hi Roland, we can have a screening in the South or East bay also (just like we are planning for the movie Bhutto)...
Also, we have a number of events in South Bay and East Bay... E.g.
Jul 16 Faiz Ahmed Faiz - Centenary Celebration Event,
Jul 30 Screening of the film "Bhutto",
Aug 14 Pakistan Independence Day Celebration and Iftar,
Aug 20 Eid Exhibition for Ladies clothes and jewelry,
Sep 10 South Asian Eid Milan Program,

If anyone can offer a space for free with a good projector or TV, in south bay or Fremont, I am very open to the idea. However, keep in mind that all of August is ramadan, it may affect attendance. Whoever offers the south bay space will need to take the responsibility of testing out the film. Let's give it 2 days to see if we can find any space in south bay or Fremont

I think at our first meetup/dinner we decided to have about 2 events per month. This weekend is the Yosemite trip and we have had a number of events this month...I suggest we try to stretch this till next month this will give us all enough time and we don't run out of activities. Let me know what the rest of you t think.

I think the PGE worked out fine and Shanzay thanks for the site and snacks but can we consider doing this in the south bay....so people from the east and south bay feel we are area neutral to events...just a suggestion,....

That sounds great... How about July 23rd at around 6:00... It might be a good idea to start sooner so we can also get together for/grab dinner at a place nearby if that is feasible...

  • Ali K

Yea sounds great to me. Shanzay, do you know if that TV can also connect with a laptop?

    July 13, 2011

How about doing this at the PG&E office too... It worked very well last time... Shanzay, would that be possible??? What other options do we have???

And another update, we will be needing everyone to pitch in to cover the snack + movie costs (guessing around $5 per person). I will most likely turn on the online payment feature here for this

Let's suggest a date and time for the screening of the film. I think around 6pm to 7pm is generally a good time to start. We are open for suggestions at the moment. Please also let us know if you can offer a space where we can screen the film (ideally a space which has a projecter or a big tv with sound). While suggesting, keep in mind that 30th July we are already having the screening of the film "Bhutto"
