Featured Presentation:

Riak is an open source, scalable, NoSQL database being used by organizations like Mozilla, Comcast, and MochiMedia to back production web applications. Riak scales up and down predictably and easily, features both Erlang and JavaScript Map/Reduce for advanced querying, and is made to simplify the lives of both developers and ops professionals everywhere.

In this talk, Andy Gross (twitter.com/argv0), Basho's Principal Architect and veteran Python hacker, will give an overview of what Riak is all about and then take you through the awesomeness one can expect when working with the Riak and Python.

Apparently the vendor read a technical paper from Amazon, said "I can do that!" and did. The presentation could have been any generic vendor pitch. Didn't see any particular relevance to Python.

Loved the lightning talks: Like, Python; Yak/Grunt; and Opani. The Riak talk itself was also great, really informative, and managed to convey what it's like to work with it.

The 2 lightning talks were excellent, as well as the main event by Andy Gross of Basho (the inventors of Riak).
