Announcing a new Meetup for San Francisco Python Meetup Group!

What: Considering the Future of Web Frameworks, by Ben Bengert

When: Wednesday, February 17,[masked]:30 PM

116 New Montgomery Street, #700
San Francisco, CA 94105

This month, sfpython explores web frameworks at new office at New Montgomery @ Mission.

As web frameworks mature, and new ones no longer pop into existence in the Python world with quite the ferocity they have in the past, it seems an appropriate time to review web frameworks. Where have they been? Where are they now? Where are they going? Along the way this talk will dive into the various aspects that make up a web framework, their components, the concepts they share, and the parts that differ. Eventually ending up with a few possible paths into the future of Python web framework development. If you've ever wanted to learn the underlying aspects behind web frameworks, this is probably the talk for you. This talk is geared for beginner to advanced pythonista.

About the Presenter:
Ben Bangert is the Senior Web Architect for a project based out of Stanford Law School. His fascination with technology and programming have led him to experiment with and use a variety of web technologies. He believes strongly in the "right tool for the right job" motto and has been adding tools to his programming belt for over 15 years. He's been working with Python for the past 5 years, and created the popular Python Web Framework Pylons. He lives in Sonoma County, where in addition to working he hacks on Pylons and other Python web toolkits along with the occasional dog walk.
